Detectives from the Transnational Organised Crime Unit (TOCU) and the Anti-Narcotics Unit (ANU) have arrested a Kasarani man who had been operating a clandestine drug outlet out of his butchery.
According to a statement from the DCI, the suspect, Paul Mwangi Karanja, who runs East Butchery in the Marurui area, was arrested after detectives acted on credible intelligence indicating that the premises was being used as a front to sell cannabis while operating under the radar.
A raid on the butchery resulted in the recovery of a sizeable haul of narcotics.

Officers seized 81 rolls of bhang, 18 cookies, 13 sim-sim rolls, and five small mabuyu containers, all laced with cannabis.
Authorities described the assortment as an elaborate attempt to evade detection and operate under the radar, highlighting the suspect’s efforts to disguise the illicit trade within seemingly ordinary products.
Detectives also arrested a delivery rider, Willinton Nadwa, who was caught red-handed delivering 14 rolls of bhang at the premises.
In a related operation, ANU detectives acting on intelligence intercepted a Nairobi-bound matatu at a Limuru roadblock along the Nakuru–Nairobi Highway and arrested Judith Faith Oriende after finding a brown suitcase containing three packages of bhang wrapped in yellow cellotape.
All suspects are currently in custody, and the recovered narcotics have been secured as evidence.
