Kaplong Secondary School Principal Mike Yator has passed away.
According to reports, the principal was found dead in his school residence.
Reports also indicated that the deceased appeared cheerful on Monday, 3 2025, as he welcomed students returning to school from half-term holidays.
The following morning, a concerned staff member noticed his delay in reporting to his office and went to check at his residence, only to find him dead.
The shocking news about his death was confirmed by KUPPET Vice Chair for Bomet, Peter Bett, who immediately visited the institution.
Bett extended his condolences to the family and friends of the principal, citing that his death was an immense loss of a remarkable academician.
The news was also confirmed by Bomet Women Representative Linet Chekorir, who expressed her sadness towards the loss of Yator.
” I am deeply saddened by the sudden passing of Mr. Mike Yator, the Chief Principal of Kaplong Boys High School. His leadership and dedication to education touched many lives and will be dearly missed”, she wrote.
“My heartfelt condolences to his family friends,, and the entire Kaplong Boys fraternity during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace,” she added.
