East African Legislative Assembly (EALA) Member of Parliament Kanini Kega has claimed he narrowly escaped an alleged attack by armed men in Ol Kalou, Nyandarua County.
Speaking on Monday, July 13, Kega alleged that he was being followed by about 10 armed individuals whom he believes were police officers.
According to the former Kieni MP, the incident occurred when he was travelling near the Ol Kalou shopping centre.

He claimed that a double-cab vehicle suddenly blocked his path, prompting him to instruct his driver to evade the obstruction after sensing that they were in danger.
Kega said his driver managed to swerve past the vehicle and continue the journey.
However, he alleged that a second vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser Prado without number plates, had also been positioned further along the road in an apparent attempt to stop them.
He claimed they again managed to avoid the vehicle and sped towards Nyahururu, with the alleged attackers pursuing them for some distance before they eventually escaped.
The EALA legislator said he later sought refuge at a shopping centre located between Ol Kalou and Ol Jororok, where he hid inside one of the shops.
Kega further alleged that the armed men located where his vehicle had been parked and vandalised it by smashing all its windows.
He expressed gratitude to Nyandarua Senator John Methu and other allies, saying they helped evacuate him from the area after the incident.
As of the time of publication, the National Police Service had not publicly responded to Kega’s allegations, and the claims had not been independently verified.
