The opposition leader further revealed that he had spoken to Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti regarding the incident that left Kioko injured.
He noted that the governor had expressed concern over the matter and is closely following developments to ensure that justice is served.
Kalonzo added that there is a commitment from the county leadership to see the issue addressed in a fair and transparent manner.
The former Vice President also appealed for restraint from all those involved, urging that the matter be handled with calm and level-headedness.
He expressed hope that the situation would be addressed in a composed manner, with focus placed on the facts to allow Kioko time to recover without unnecessary disruption.
Kalonzo stressed that the comedian’s well-being, along with the dignity of his family, should remain the top priority as the issue unfolds.
Kioko was reportedly manhandled and later arrested during a protest at the County Government headquarters on Tuesday, March 31.
He was demanding payment of Ksh19 million allegedly owed to Movata Designs by the county administration.
Following the incident, Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti condemned the events that led to his arrest and hospitalization, calling for calm as investigations continue.
The governor also met Kioko’s family and assured them that the pending Ksh19 million owed to Movata Designs will be settled.
