A man in Kajiado has recently been sentenced to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of defiling a minor.
The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) reported on Monday, January 5, that a Kajiado court relied on the testimony of the 11-year-old victim to convict a man of defilement.
The court found that the offence occurred in 2022, with the accused luring the child from home under false pretences, isolating and threatening them before committing the abuse.

In passing the life sentence, the court highlighted the victim’s vulnerability and the deliberate, violent nature of the crime, deeming it severe and warranting the maximum punishment under the law.
The ODPP also emphasized the role of the prosecution team, noting that the evidence presented met the required legal standards and reinforced the office’s commitment to protecting children.
Led by Linda Nzioka, the team presented five witnesses whose consistent and credible testimony secured the conviction, demonstrating the DPP’s dedication to holding perpetrators of sexual violence fully accountable.
