The founder of Jesus Winner Ministry Edward Mwai has denied stealing land belonging to the Kenyan Defence Forces.
According to pastor Mwai, his church has been buying this field since 2018, and the sale has entailed GL complex and the people from Uchumi.
“It has been four years since we paid our money and have not had any debts; we have been pushing for the title deed to be transferred to our name, Jesus, Winner. When we speak to the people from Uchumi, they tell us that the government, permanent secretary, or cabinet secretary for trade have not signed,” Mwai noted.

Pastor Mwai also noted that according to Uchumi, the government needs to sign it for the transfer to be initiated.
“Now, because we are tired as they keep telling us that, we have decided that it’s best we speak so that the whole country and the government know that we have pain in our hearts,” Mwai noted.
Talking of the conflict with KDF, the pastor questioned why the military was given their title deed yet his church was yet to receive it’s.
He further alleged that initially, he had applied for 20 acres of the land, and the military was demanding 17 acres.
“We started demanding three years ago and then the military wrote a letter saying that they would allow Uchumi to sell that field. We have seen that the military has taken over their part of the field, and so we are now asking if the military was given their title deed, why we, as Jesus Winner, have not received ours despite paying money,”he noted.
Jesus Winner Ministry Church has been in the public spotlight since Sunday after President Ruto pledged to donate Ksh 120M for the construction of the church.
The pledge sparked a lot of debate among Kenyans with many threatening to occupy the church next Sunday if the pastor refuses to return Ruto’s donation.
Many argue that the money should have been allocated to deal with other serious matters such as health issues, create job employment instead of building a church.
