Isaac Mwaura Honoured by UN for His Role in Social Justice and Youth Mentorship

Government Spokesperson Isaac Mwaura has recently received a prestigious award for social justice and youth mentorship from the United Nations Centre in Bangkok, Thailand.

He was recognised for his efforts in youth mentorship and social justice in the country and the wider region. 

The award also reflects Mwaura’s focus on offering climate-related solutions and ensuring the voices of young people are heard.

In a statement after the award, Mwaura expressed gratitude and stressed his commitment to continue championing youth mentorship programmes.

Mwaura was appointed as the government spokesperson in October 2023. 

Prior, he served in the National Assembly and the Senate, where he was nominated to represent people with disabilities.

The award seeks to recognise people working to advance the Sustainable Development Goals, including the mentorship of youth-led projects and efforts to address emerging challenges.
