Ireland Beat Israel 3-0 after Turbulent Nations League Build-Up

Republic of Ireland produced a strong response to a turbulent build-up by beating Israel 3-0 in their UEFA Nations League match in Debrecen, Hungary, on Sunday.

Ireland scored all three goals in the first half, with Troy Parrott opening the scoring in the 14th minute before Adam Idah doubled the advantage two minutes later. Jack Moylan then added a third in the 25th minute.

The match came after a difficult weekend for the Irish team, with goalkeeper Gavin Bazunu withdrawing from the squad amid a dispute over whether Ireland should play against Israel.

The majority of the Irish players eventually voted to fulfil the fixture.

The team wore black armbands and did not take part in the customary pre-match handshakes.

Ireland controlled the match after their fast start and secured a much-needed three points following their 1-0 defeat by Kosovo in their opening Group B3 match on September 24.

The victory moved Ireland onto three points, while Austria remained top of the group after beating Kosovo 3-1 earlier on Sunday.
