The government has announced plans to directly pay influencers and content creators who promote key state programs online.
Speaking on October 1, Dennis Itumbi, Head of Creative Economy and Special Projects in the Executive Office of the President, noted that the government is willing to pay influencers creating content around housing, health, job creation, and agriculture.
“The government is willing to put money specifically for a few things that the government is doing, and you can benefit directly. I would like creators to take advantage of this because if you do content around housing, health, job creation, and agriculture, we are willing to put money into it for you,” Itumbi noted.

According to Itumbi, the state intends to make the process straightforward by offering both financial support and creative guidance to ensure content reaches the right audience.
This comes months after Itumbi extended a job opportunity to comedian Kafengo.
On Tuesday, July 29, Itumbi announced that comedian Kafengo and his videographer Mike would be joining his office to help develop new digital platforms.
He commended Kafengo’s academic credentials, noting that he holds a degree in Mathematics with Computing.
