Heavy traffic was on Thursday morning witnessed along the busy Thika Super Highway after a road accident in the Ngara area.
The traffic came as a result of a matatu which was ferrying passengers to the CBD got involved in a road crash, leaving several passengers with injuries.
The accident is said to have occurred around 7:30 am, around Guru Nanak, near the Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD).

According to reports, the matatu rammed into another vehicle from the rear.
This then caused several other vehicles trailing it to crash into one another, further complicating the situation.
A total of six cars were involved in the accident and the rescue operations showed up to clear the road and ease traffic flow.
Many passengers were forced to walk, while others resorted to using motorbikes to access the CBD.
