Harry Kane scored as Bayern Munich, the newly crowned Bundesliga champions, defeated Borussia Monchengladbach in Thomas Muller’s final home game for the club.
In the 31st minute, Michael Olise cut inside and aimed a shot towards the top corner, which was then headed in by Kane for his 25th Bundesliga goal of the season.
Olise sealed the victory in the 90th minute with a clever flicked finish into the bottom corner, assisted by Leroy Sane.
Kane, returning to the starting lineup after serving a one-match suspension, proved his value once again during a season in which Bayern reclaimed the title.
Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer made his return after a two-month absence due to a calf injury and quickly got down to push a low shot from Robin Hack around the post as Gladbach sought a first-half equalizer.
Bayern kept pressing forward, with Kingsley Coman rising highest in the box but only managing to head wide, while Sane’s low shot was saved.
Neuer made another crucial save to deny Tomas Cvancara, who was clear through on goal.
Muller started his 750th appearance for Bayern before his summer departure and was honored before the match. The 35-year-old German forward was unable to mark the milestone with a goal, despite three promising attempts. He left the field to a huge applause from fans in the Allianz Arena and received a guard of honor from his teammates in the 84th minute.
Vincent Kompany’s side will conclude their season next Saturday with an away match at Hoffenheim.
