Barely two weeks into the new term, all boarding schools in Gatundu South constituency now stand closed indefinitely.
The decision was informed by the increase in cases of arson.
According to the area MP Gabriel Kagombe, the arson incidents were deliberately planned by saboteurs seeking to sabotage the local leadership.

He noted that the closure was sanctioned to enable investigations into the real causes of the school fires.
The MP moreover revealed that the school administration and the local authorities had scheduled a meeting with stakeholders to deliberate on the solution to the fire.
Parents lamented that the indefinite closure, though necessary, would disrupt learning for many students, particularly those facing national exams.
They urged education authorities to conclude investigations swiftly to enable the resumption of studies.
