Isiolo County Governor Abdi Guyo has broken his silence regarding the arson attack on a family of five.
In a statement on Wednesday, July 16, the Isiolo governor condemned the recent incidents, such as the death of five family members and a separate event where a blogger was killed.
He called out political figures exploiting tragedies to attract political agendas.
He condemned an incident that led to the death of five died in a fire and is believed to have been attacked by a woman suspected to have been in a love triangle with the victim.
Reports indicate that Halima, the deceased, had filed complaints about threats in her life, raising questions about the protection mechanism.
“Isiolo has experienced a rise in isolated cases of killings in recent weeks. These incidents have left families grieving and communities anxious. Investigations are ongoing, and I assure our residents that those responsible will be brought to justice. We stand with every family affected and remain committed to restoring security and peace”, Guyo affirmed.
The Isiolo governor has therefore urged the county leaders to speak with responsibility and truth, and to prioritise the well-being of Isiolo residents over political intrigues.
