Government Cautions Kenyans Against Rising Fake Jobs and Visa Frauds

The Ministry of Foreign and Diaspora Affairs has warned the public against fake jobs when processing visas.

In a statement dated 4th February 2025, the Ministry claimed that it had received complaints from various citizens who have been defrauded while applying for travel visas to various countries.

The Ministry therefore cautioned over delayed duration for a visa.

If arrested one can be liable to imprisonment or a fine as may be determined by the courts of the various jurisdictions.

The Ministry advised Visa applicants to be careful when applying for visas as it is their personal responsibility that does not require any firm’s or individual’s approval.

It is important that the persons seeking to travel to different destinations apply for the correct visas as provided on the official websites of the respective countries. Visa applications is a personal responsibility that does not require the approval of agents or organizations.

The Ministry stated.

The Ministry also advised job seekers seeking for jobs in various destinations to be careful before embarking on any traveling arrangements.

The Ministry then urged the 67 Kenya Missions abroad to remain available to assist in conducting necessary due diligence on any available jobs.
