Government Appoints Johana Ng’eno’s Widow to ICTA Board

Naiyanoi Ntutu, the wife of the late former Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno, has been appointed to the board of the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA).

According to a gazette notice dated Thursday, April 2, ICT and Digital Economy Cabinet Secretary William Kabogo confirmed that the appointment will run for a period of three years.

The notice stated that, in exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (2) (e) of the Information and Communications Technology Authority Order, 2013, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy appoints Naiyanoi Ntutu as a member of the ICTA Board, effective April 2, 2026, for a three-year term.

Her appointment has been welcomed by the ICTA board leadership, who expressed confidence in her abilities and the contribution she is expected to make.

The appointment follows a month after Ntutu paid tribute to her late husband.

On Wednesday, March 4, during the memorial service for the victims of the Nandi helicopter crash that claimed Ng’eno and five others, she remembered him as a supportive and loving husband.

She described Ng’eno as the pillar of her life, who stood by her as they navigated life together and built a family.

Ntutu also reflected on his laughter, saying it had the power to brighten even the dullest days and make life feel more joyful.

She also remembered Ng’eno as a devoted father to their two children, always present in their lives and proud of them.

Ntutu described the loss as leaving a profound void, likening it to losing the music of her youth, but affirmed that their love and family would endure beyond death.

The couple married in 2018 and were blessed with two children.
