KANU Chairman Gideon Moi has expressed concern over the increasing cases of child disappearances, abuse, and unexplained deaths reported across the country.
In a statement issued on Friday, May 15, Gideon said the growing number of incidents involving children reflects a worrying trend that requires urgent intervention from the government and relevant agencies.
He noted that cases of child abuse, violence, mistreatment, and mysterious deaths, which were once considered isolated incidents, are now becoming a major national concern.

The KANU chairman also referenced constitutional protections for children, emphasizing that the State has a responsibility to shield minors from all forms of abuse, neglect, violence, and exploitation.
Gideon further stated that the increasing violence against children reflects a moral failure within society, warning that the country can no longer ignore the growing crisis affecting minors.
He said Kenya must confront the issue directly and prioritize the protection of vulnerable children from abuse, neglect, and violence.
The KANU chairman also urged the government to establish a coordinated national emergency response system to better handle cases involving children.
According to Gideon, the State Department for Children Services should introduce a rapid child emergency alert and response mechanism to address the rising threats facing minors across the country.
At the same time, he called on Kenyans to speak out against child abuse and reject what he described as a growing culture of silence and indifference whenever children are harmed.
He added that stronger societal action and tougher consequences against perpetrators would help deter violence and protect children from further harm.
