Githunguri MP Gathoni Wamuchomba has claimed that Members of Parliament (MPs) always receive phone calls from an unnamed senior before casting out their votes.

This she said during Citizen’s daybreak show during a progressive debate which was running off smoothly on Monday 27th January 2025.

The debate took another turn when MP Wamuchomba alleged that Members of UDA party always receive a phone call from State House and prefects from Kenya Kwanza before voting for a law in Parliament.

Every Politician will say they are not in that cage, but I can confess that no single vote happens in Parliament without them receiving a call from the Majority Leader, Majority Whip, State House.

The Githunguri MP said.

We saw the during Rigathi Gachagua’s Impeachment, we saw them during the Finance Bill. That is the cage Rigathi Gachagua was in and now he is out of that cage he can be able to speak

Wamuchomba added.

The MP also shared that some of them are very conflicted because they are never comfortable in the cage.

However, Laikipia women rep Jane Kagiri insisted that she was lying to Kenya over the phone calls issues who claimed that the only phone call she had received was from Gathoni Wamuchomba.

Wamuchomba had contacted her urging her to reconsider the motion she had tabled on the cost of electricity telling her to be careful and that she was attacking the government.

Wamuchomba on the other hand felt that Kagiri was not being honest citing there is a CCTV in a Parliament and that she would like her to produce the footage.
