DCP Party Leader Rigathi Gachagua has urged President William Ruto to make a stop at the Vatican to meet Pope Leo before returning to Kenya from Italy.
Speaking during a public address in Katutu, Kitui County on Wednesday, April 22, Gachagua argued that the President should seek spiritual intervention aimed at changing his conduct.
He accused Ruto of needing guidance to address what he termed as habitual dishonesty and alleged mistreatment of opposition leaders, including claims of state-linked intimidation and violence against protesters and critics.

“Do not leave Italy before visiting the Pope so that he prays for you to stop or even reduce your lying. Ask the Pope to pray for you so that you stop sending police and goons to attack us in church, and issuing orders for protesters to be shot in the leg,” Gachagua noted.
Gachagua went on to criticize his former boss over remarks urging Kenyans in Italy to disregard social media reports portraying the country negatively.
He also responded to Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale over claims that he had instructed residents of Garissa to block his entry into the county.
Gachagua dismissed the directive, maintaining that he has the constitutional right to travel and engage with citizens across all parts of the country.
The DCP leader further challenged Duale, pointing out that the CS resides in Kiambu County and asserting that any attempt to restrict his movement would be met with resistance.
