DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua has sustained his offensive against President Ruto and his DP Kithure Kindiki, accusing them of plotting against the unity of Mt Kenya.
President Ruto and Deputy President Kindiki have in recent tirades dismissed Gachagua’s political acumen, often poking at his academic background.
While addressing teachers at State House, Nairobi, on September 13, Ruto openly regretted having Gachagua as his deputy, citing his lack of education.

In response, Gachagua accused Kindiki of exploiting economic empowerment forums to push a narrative against him.
Speaking in Nyeri, he branded himself as Mt Kenya’s key leader, warning that his supporters would not allow sustained attacks on him.
He challenged the president and his deputy to take their rhetoric to his Nyeri backyard if indeed they are tough politically as they claim.
The former DP escalated his attacks on President Ruto, accusing him and his deputy of attempting to buy off Mt Kenya voters.
Speaking after Ruto’s meeting with Murang’a leaders at State House, Gachagua told residents to pocket the mobilisation funds but resist Ruto’s political schemes.
Now at the forefront of a campaign to oust Ruto, Gachagua charges that the Head of State has ruined the economy, entrenched corruption, and unleashed state violence on citizens.
