Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has claimed that President William Ruto has agreed to give former Prime Minister Raila Odinga 10 Principal Secretary (PS)positions in government.
Speaking during an interview at Kameme FM, the former DP noted that Raila asked for 15 slots but President Ruto agreed to give him 10.
“Raila is asking for 15 PSs. I have been told he is being given ten. William Ruto is planning to chase away our people. When I was DP, I would try to stop him from such and that is why he disliked me and called me tribal,” Gachagua revealed.

According to Gachagua, the slots would likely be taken from the 15 positions he had negotiated when the Kenya Kwanza government was formed.
“I negotiated 15 PS positions for Mt Kenya. Raila has now asked for 15 PS seats and Ruto has agreed to 10, it is our people who will give way. What worries me is that it is one of us from Kikuyu taking minutes on how our people will be persecuted,” Gachagua stated.
Gachagua went on to express his dissatisfaction with politicians from the Mount Kenya Region affiliated with President Ruto failing to intervene and stop the overhaul as it would affect the entire region.
“I don’t know if we are bewitched or it is the money from President William Ruto that is making our men and women crazy. People are planning for our PSs to be kicked out and our people are just silent,” Gachagua lamented.
His allegations come days after President Ruto and Raila Odinga signed a memorandum of understanding at KICC, signaling an endeavor to work together in one government.
