Gachagua calls out Kenya Kwanza leaders for allegedly being afraid of President Ruto

Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has called out all the Kenya Kwanza leaders for allegedly being afraid of President William Ruto.

Speaking during a church service at the AIPCA Kangari in Kigumo, Murang’a County, the former DP told the church that he was among the only leaders who could openly call out the President when he felt some of Ruto’s decisions were detrimental to the citizens, citing the collapsed Adani deals as a classic example.

“The Adani issue was the source of friction between myself and the President. In the Cabinet, I was the only one who could speak the truth. All others were afraid. When the president stared down at them, they all bowed down. Whenever Cabinet Secretaries were in disagreement, they used to ask me to tell the President. Nobody can tell the president this is not right.”

He further disclosed that he was viewed as an enemy of progress whenever he tried to speak up about the Adani deal.

“I told the president this Adani deal was plagued with flaws and the people did not want it, and he despised me for it. And it was put out to look like I was opposing government projects,” Gachagua said.

According to the former DP, the government only cut ties with the Indian conglomerate because the United States government blew the whistle.

Recently, there have been concerns over Gachagua’s safety after the former  DP claimed to have been trailed by unmarked cars on Thursday, November 21.

Through his social media pages, the former DP said unmarked cars were parked outside his house before trailing him to the Presbyterian Church of East Africa (PCEA), Kerarapon.
