A former Embu County MCA aspirant was shot dead after allegedly attempting to escape the police custody.
According to reports, he was fatally shot in the Gatondo area shortly after a court session.
Reports indicate that the suspect was in custody facing a murder charge who at the time of escape attempt was being transported back to Embu prison with other inmates.
During the trip back to prison, the suspect, allegedly armed with pepper spray, attempted to overpower the escorting officers before launching an escape.
His escaped seemed successful not until he refused to surrender and charged at the officer who was forced to neutralise him.
