A fire broke out at Hill School in Eldoret, Uasin Gishu County, early Tuesday morning, destroying property worth millions of shillings.
The incident occurred at around 5:00 a.m. at Block 6 of the Senior School, where a dormitory housing about 340 students was affected.
At the time of the incident, the students were attending morning preps in classrooms, helping prevent injuries or loss of life.

Emergency response efforts were led by the Head of Region (HOR), North Rift, and the County Coordinator (CC), Uasin Gishu, in collaboration with police officers, firefighters and members of the local community.
Hill School Principal Naftali Mibei confirmed that all students were safe and clarified that the fire was confined to the Senior School block and did not affect the Primary School.
He attributed the quick containment of the fire to the prompt intervention of school staff and emergency responders, noting that normal operations had since resumed.
Mibei also thanked parents, guardians and members of the public for their concern and support following the incident.
He reassured the school community that measures remained in place to safeguard the learners and maintain normal operations at the institution.
