Facebook and Messenger Introduce New ‘Teen Accounts’ to Improve Safety

Meta is launching a ‘Teen Accounts’ feature on Facebook and Messenger.

The tech company’s expansion of safety measures for teens comes as the public wants children protected from social media harms.

Meta, TikTok and YouTube had previously faced many lawsuits filed on behalf of children about the addictive nature of social media.

In the new META update, teens will require parental permission before going live and disable a feature that automatically blurs images potentially containing nudity in direct messages.
