MCSK chief executive officer Ezekiel Mutua has Criticized the Viral Mapangale Dance Challenge.
Taking to his social media, Ezekiel Mutua noted that content creators should focus on inspiring hope and bot promoting criminal behaviour.
He disclosed that he is liaising with the authorities to ensure that such content does not affect national security.
He further advised content creators to use their creativity to inspire hope instead of promoting criminal activities.
“I am liaising with the relevant authorities, particularly the Ministry of Interior to ensure that such content does not jeopardise national security. In the meantime, we advise content creators to use their creativity to inspire hope and not to promote or glorify criminal behaviour.”
Digital Content creator Nasra Yusuf has also shared that at a time when the nation is dealing with increased violence reports, a dance challenge with pangas should not be promoted.
The challenge involves two dancers dancing while facing each other as they move and wiggle, they also lower themselves rhythmically.
while using their arms, they mimic the acts of someone cutting up their dance partner with a panga.
Some content creators have now even gone a step further and are using an actual panga to demonstrate their dance styles.
