Former Likoni District Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) Charles Onyango has been arrested by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC).
According to reports, Onyango was arrested at his rural home in Oyugis, Homa Bay County.
The EACC spokesperson Eric Ngumbi confirmed the arrest who stated that EACC is focus on bribery cases which causes significance harm to Kenya.
The commission is ramping up its focus on tackling bribery at service delivery points and will continue to tackle it with the same dedication and energy used in addressing large-scale corruption, acknowledge the severe harm bribery inflicts on the public.
Ngumbi stated.

Citizens are urged not to succumb to bribery demands by public officials but should report all such cases to EACC.
He added.
Onyango was arraigned before the Mombasa Anti-Corruption Court on Wednesday 5th February 2024 in the morning.
He was accused of accepting a bribe of Ksh 20,000 from an individual at a bar in Mombasa in violation to section 6(1) read together with section 18(1)(2) of the Bribery Act of 2016.
