Eugene Wamalwa: “Gen Zs can’t remove this regime from power on their own in 2027”

DAP-K leader Eugine Wamalwa has recently claimed that Gen Z cannot alone remove the Kenya Kwanza government from power in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during an interview with NTV, Wamalwa noted that the Gen Zs will need to work with the older generation to form a strong combination that would beat President Ruto in the 2027 polls.

“The Gen Zs have every reason to be cynical about some of us who have been in politics for long, but they say it takes a village to raise a child, so it will take the whole country and an intergenerational kind of partnership for us to rid this country of this corrupt regime. They cannot do it on their own, and we cannot do it on our own. Once we agree on that, then we should take this as a mission that we must take to save this country. If we want our country back, we must make sacrifices.”

Wamalwa went on to state that the opposition coalition is ready to support a younger politician if he is the best candidate to face President Ruto in the 2027 polls.

“A time will come when we will agree on one candidate, this is how we are going to beat William Ruto, and if it turns out that one of the best candidates will be one of the youngest in our team, we will support him,” Wamalwa stated.

He further stated that they are assembling a powerful coalition that will give Ruto strong competition.

Wamalwa highlighted that their new coalition would be akin to the Narc coalition that rose to power in the 2002 general election.
