EPRA Keeps Fuel Prices Unchanged in New Review

The Energy Petroleum Regulatory Authority (EPRA) has announced that fuel prices will remain unchanged for the next thirty days.

In a statement released on March 14 2025, the regulatory that the prices of Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene will continue to retail at sh176.58, sh167.068 and sh151.39, respectively, effective today till 14 April 2025.

“In the period under review, the maximum allowed petroleum pump prices for Super Petrol, Diesel and Kerosene remain unchanged”, the statement read.

The prices will be inclusive of the 16 per cent Value Added Tax (VAT) in line with the provisions of the Finance Act 2023, the Tax Laws (Amendment) Act 20204 and the revised rates for exercise duty adjusted for inflation as per Legal Notice No. 194 of 20.

However, Epra raised the subsidy of petrol to sh6.92 per litre, on diesel sh9.9 per litre and kerosene sh10.35 per litre.

The increase in fuel subsidy is meant to adjust new charges to cater for oil marketers’ margin.

“The purpose of the Petroleum Pricing Regulations is to cap the retail prices of petroleum products which are already in the country so that importation and other prudently incurred costs are covered while ensuring reasonable prices to consumers”, Epra stated.
