The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) has recovered 12 parcels of prime public land worth Ksh. 320 million that had been grabbed in Kakamega.
The parcels which include government houses were allegedly acquired by private individuals in collusion with public officials.
The commission is currently pursuing 56 additional parcels believed to have been taken from state institutions illegally, including residences of Regional and County Commissioners, the State Department for Housing, the Judiciary, the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, Kenya Railways and the National Treasury.
Speaking at a forum, Western Regional Commissioner Samson Macharia urged administrative officers to take responsibility for ensuring efficient service in their areas of command.
He further urged security chiefs to join efforts with the EACC in tackling corruption and bribery service, which he termed as the biggest obstacle to service delivery.
