Huruma Ward MCA Peter Owera Oluoch was reportedly arrested for being involved in certificate forgery.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) stated that Owera claimed to hold a Diploma from Kenya Polytechnic.
However, during an independent investigation, it was discovered that the MCA had never been a student in the institution.
“Mr Owera declared that he held a Diploma from Kenya Polytechnic in the Self-Declaration Form. However, upon verification by the Commission, it was established that the suspect was never a student in the Diploma programme at Kenya Polytechnic”, EACC stated.
Owera was also reported to have forged the signature and stamp impression of an Advocate and Commissioner of Oaths.
This comes days after Juja MP Komburi was arrested for the allegation of forging a Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) for the Kenya Certificate Secondary Education (KCSE).
In response to the matter, the authorities have revealed that EACC is investigating several government officials for forgery of academic certificates.
