Busia Governor Paul Otuoma wa summoned by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) at their Western Regional Offices in Bungo
The summon followed allegations of graft involving about Ksh1.4 billion in the county government.
According to the commission, the governor arrived at 9:30am, recorded his statement, and responded to questions from investigators.
This comes six months after the EACC raided the offices and residences of six senior county officials on August 6 last year as part of a Ksh1.4 billion tender probe.
The comission focused focused on irregular procurement and economic crimes related to the construction of the Busia Trailer Park Yard during the 2023/24 financial year.
According to reports, the County Government of Busia allegedly leased public land, parcel number Bukhayo/Bugengi/13213, covering approximately 2.4 hectares, to a private company for the project without a proper tendering process
