Dennis Itumbi Heckled During KK Mwenyewe’s Burial

Dennis Itumbi encountered a tough crowd during the burial ceremony of budding content creator Zakaria Kariuki alias KK Mwenyewe’s after anti-government chants erupted.

Itumbi was initially met with a warm reception when he took to the podium to address the crowd gathered to mourn the young comedian.

However, the situation quickly changed when he began speaking about government efforts to support the creative industry.

Itumbi’s remarks were met with immediate disapproval with shouts of ‘Uongo!’ and ‘Kasongo ni Wantam,’ echoing across the venue.

In an attempt to regain control of the moment, Itumbi shifted his focus away from the government and addressed KK Mwenyewe’s grieving family.

He went on to pledge support for KK’s sister’s education, but rather than calming the mourners, his gesture appeared to intensify their frustration.

More chants of ‘Wantam! Wantam!’ broke out shortly before he eventually left the stage.

This is not the first time leaders and top government officials allied to President William Ruto have been heckled in public.

Comedian KK Mwenyewe who rose to fame for imitating former DP Rigathi Gachagua passed away on Monday, July 15.

The news about his death was confirmed by his fellow comedian Kafengo who disclosed that the comedian passed on at the Kiambu Level 4 Hospital after a short illness.
