Four people have died and others sustained serious injuries after a bus plunged into a river along Musa Gitau Road in Waruku, Nairobi, on the evening of Tuesday, October 7.
The bus overturned on its side in what appeared to be a riverbed following the crash.
According to preliminary reports, several passengers died at the scene..
Reports revealed that the vehicle toppled into the Mashagusha stream in Waruku Village, a tributary of the Kitisuru River.

Nairobi Chief Officer for Environment Geoffrey Mosiria confirmed the incident and said emergency responders had been dispatched to the scene.
Images from the scene painted a grim picture, showing passers-by rushing to assist as some of the first responders.
Rescue efforts were complicated by the fact that the bus was partially submerged in water, heightening panic among passengers trapped inside.
With the vehicle lying on its side, rescuers were forced to evacuate the injured through the windows as civilians struggled to help one another.
Authorities are yet to determine the exact cause of the accident.
This marks the second major bus incident in Nairobi in recent weeks.
In a similar case along Jogoo Road, a speeding bus lost control, veered off the road, and plunged into a ditch—killing one passenger instantly.
