Ngotho is now set to be sworn in as the new Member of Parliament for Ol Kalou Constituency and will serve for the remainder of the current parliamentary term.
After receiving his certificate of election, Ngotho thanked the people of Ol Kalou for the overwhelming support, saying he considered the victory a mandate to serve all residents with integrity, humility and dedication.
He also expressed gratitude to former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, Pastor Dorcas Rigathi, the DCP leadership, campaign team, volunteers, supporters and everyone who contributed to his successful campaign. Ngotho dedicated the victory to the people of Ol Kalou, stating that the mandate belonged to all those who believed in the party’s vision.
Meanwhile, DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua described the outcome as a historic milestone for the party, noting that the by-election had delivered DCP’s first Member of the National Assembly.
He thanked Ol Kalou voters for electing Ngotho and praised them for rejecting what he termed attempts to influence the election through promises of development projects.
Gachagua said Ngotho’s election strengthened his political team, adding that the new MP would bolster the party’s efforts to champion the interests of Kenyans in Parliament.
He further commended the electorate for what he described as restoring the dignity of both the community and the country.
The former Deputy President also lauded campaign leaders, elected leaders, volunteers, party officials and supporters for their commitment and sacrifice throughout the three-month campaign, crediting their efforts with helping secure the victory.
