DCI Launches Probe After DPP Orders Inquiry Into Betty Bayo’s Death

The Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP) has ordered an investigation into the death of gospel singer Betty Bayo.

DPP, through Deputy Director Jacinta Nyamosi, wrote a letter to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) on Tuesday directing that a an investigation be launched and findings submitted within seven days.

The latest development follows a formal request which was made by the late singer’s mother, Joyce Wairimu, who alleged there were some unanswered questions surrounding her death.

In the letter, the family claimed the singer never exhibited any signs of illness in the days leading up to her death.

They also claimed that they were denied the autopsy results.

According to public reports, Betty Bayo died due to a short illness called Leukemia.
