A suspect has accused of mobilising and financing criminal gangs in Trans-Nzoia County has been apprehended.
In a statement on Thursday, April 21, 2026, the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), officers drawn from multiple security units conducted a coordinated raid targeting individuals linked to organised criminal gangs within the area.
The operation led to the arrest of the notorious suspect, who detectives described as a key player in the recruitment and facilitation of goons.
” A team of officers drawn from the DCI headquarters, the Administration Police headquarters, and the General Service Unit (GSU) headquarters have arrested a prime suspect implicated in the mobilisation and financing of goons,” part of the statement read.
According to the DCI, the arrest followed an intelligence which culminated in a raid at the prime suspect’s residence in Tans Nzoia, resulting in his arrest.
During the operation, police officers recovered items believed to be used in orchestrating illegal activities, including reflector jackets, stickers, weapons, and other items linked to goonism.
At the same time, detectives have nabbed eleven additional suspects believed to be part of the same network, in Kitale’s Nitume and Miti Moja Neighbourhoods.
During the operation, the officers recovered laptops, gas cylinders, and other property suspected to have been stolen from members of the public.
The suspects are currently in custody awaiting arraignment in court.
