According to the DCI, Makori dropped a firearm during the incident, which police recovered and secured as an exhibit.
The suspect had remained at large since the robbery until detectives tracked him down through intelligence-led operations.
Following his arrest, Makori was taken into custody for processing ahead of his arraignment in court.
Meanwhile, detectives are pursuing additional leads to identify, track down and arrest his accomplices, who remain at large.
The DCI reaffirmed its commitment to pursuing suspects linked to violent crimes, dismantling criminal networks and ensuring that those responsible for attacks on members of the public face justice.
