DCI Arrest Sparks Drama as Lawyer Threatens to Jump

Drama was reportedly witnessed in Westlands, after a city lawyer threatened to jump from the eighth floor while attempting to evade arrest.

According to reports, the incident occurred after detectives from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) stormed the lawyer’s office over allegations of presenting forged documents before the Employment and Labour Relations Court.

The lawyer was nabbed at his office in The Westery Building after the officers traced him following a directive by the Director of Public Prosecutions (ODPP) to have him charged.

The DCI revealed in a statement that the lawyer had earlier been summoned to present himself at Parklands Police Station but allegedly ignored the directive, prompting officers to launch a manhunt for him.

However, the arrest turned dramatic when the lawyer allegedly threatened to jump from a window on the eighth floor of the building as officers moved in to apprehend him.

When officers eventually managed to arrest him, the suspect allegedly resisted being handcuffed and bit two police officers who were attempting to restrain him.

The DCI said the lawyer’s arrest followed investigations into a complaint filed by three officials of the Kenya County Government Workers Union, Nairobi Branch.

Furthermore, the charges approved by the ODPP, the DCI said the suspect would face additional charges arising from his conduct during the arrest.
