Daddy Owen Weighs in ODM Leadership Debate

Veteran gospel singer Daddy Owen has claimed that the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has fumbled, in its latest move to dismiss Senator Edwin Sifuna, as the Secretary General of the Party.

In a series of tweets in X, Daddy Owen claimed that Sifuna and Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino are the future of ODM.

The gospel singer went ahead and stated his disappointments in the party, revealing that he is a registered member of of ODM Party.

He added that ODM is on an unstoppable downward spin, detailing several events that have seen the party inch closer to its deathbed, with Babu Owino and Edwin Sifuna holding the promise of the future amid the chaos in the party.

According to Daddy Owen, death of Raila Odinga marked the death of the party, with Sifuna’s ouster driving the last nail into the coffin, marking the end of an era for a party that was at one point the most popular one in the country.

“Bro, sahii, it’s not about Sifuna; it’s about the death of Raila… Sifuna’s case is just adding the last nail to the coffin of ODM’s death,” he stated.

This comes after the ODM National Executive Council held a meeting without inviting Sifuna.

Later on, the Party called for a press release and informed the Members of the Public that, Senator Edwin Sifuna had been removed from his role as the Secretary General, and replaced by Busia Women Representative Catherine Wamonyo.

The move has so far sparked public reaction.

Former LSK President Nelson Havi has since invited Sifuna to join the DCP Party.

“Edwin Sifuna, welcome to DCP. Fools cannot tolerate intelligent men,” Havi, who is eyeing the Westlands Parliamentary” he stated.

Havi recently joined DCP Party citing disrespect from his former Party.

According to reports, he is eyeing the Westlands Parliamentary seat.
