Radio Jambo has lost a defamation case against media personality Oga Obinna, resulting in a compensation of 6.1 million.
Taking to his social media account, Obinna announced his win in the case and claimed that the defamation had led to him facing criticism.
“We successfully sued Radio Jambo for defamation about a year ago, and today we have won. [The socialite] has been making defamatory remarks about me, knowing we have never met,” Obinna stated.
“She gets invited for an interview by Masawe on her show that airs on Radio Jambo, and she goes and makes the same remarks. The host and the producers never asked for evidence but decided to air the story for Views and Likes or whatever reason”, he added.
Despite the defamatory remarks, Obinna claimed that he never received any apologies leading him to sue the media company.
Upon the court ruling, Radio Jambo was warned against publishing any defamatory remarks towards Oga Obinna.
