A court order has led to the cancellation of Governor Abdi Guyo’s public participation impeachment process.
The County Assembly had put a notice on June 14 announcing the public participation for the removal of the governor, which has since been recalled by Isiolo’s County Assembly Clerk following conservatory orders issued by the High Court.
In the ruling, Justice Nyaga temporarily barred the Assembly from proceeding with the impeachment motion pending hearing and determination of a matter submitted by the High Court in Isiolo.
The Justice also said that he was satisfied that the Petitioner had made out a case that warranted the grant of the relief.

Guyo had sued the County Assembly and Speaker. the
Sericho MCA Abubakar Godana tabled a motion to impeach the governor.
Guyo had seven days to respond to the accusation, whereby the County Assembly and Speaker Mohammed Roba were preparing for a public participation process.
The motion received support from unknown individuals who sought to have the Governor removed from office on grounds of gross misconduct, violation of various laws and the Constitution as well as abuse of office.
