Nominated Senator Hezena Lemaletian has obtained permanent protection orders against her ex-lover Hussein Lenyumpa.
The ruling which was delivered at the Milimani Law Courts concluded a case that arose after a broken engagement between Senator Hezena and Lenyumpa.
According to reports, the senator had publicly acknowledged the relationship before calling it off earlier this year.
Hezena later on returned a Ksh.100,000 traditional courtship token.
However, the court heard that the breakup allegedly triggered a series of threats, harassment and defamatory statements that left the legislator feeling unsafe both at home and at her workplace.
Regarding the matter, the court issued permanent orders barring Lenyumpa from threatening, harassing or interfering with the senator in any way.
The court also prohibited him from accessing her residence or office and from issuing false or defamatory claims about her directly or through third parties, including on social media.
