Court Convicts Four in Robbery Linked to Slain Kabete MP George Muchai

The court has found four men guilty of robbery with violence in connection with the 2015 killing of former Kabete MP George Muchai.

The MP was fatally shot together with his aides during a robbery in Nairobi.

The four accused persons were each convicted on three counts of robbery with violence.

The court ruled that the evidence presented clearly linked the men to a series of violent robbery incidents, including the attack in which Muchai and his security team were killed.

Reports indicate that testimony from victims and supporting evidence consistently pointed to the four men as the perpetrators, with each of the accused playing a role in the robberies.

The suspects were therefore convicted of murdering the MP, his two bodyguards, and his driver on the night of February 6–7, 2015, along Kenyatta Avenue in Nairobi.

They were also accused of robbing a motor vehicle and personal items valued at Ksh416,000.

According to reports, the first accused had been identified as carrying a large firearm during the incidents.

Apart from the charges related to Muchai’s killing, the court also convicted the men on charges connected to other robbery incidents linked to the case.

Moreover, one of the accused was acquitted due to insufficient evidence.

The sentencing for the convicted is scheduled at a later date.
