Comedian Chipukeezy Lands New Role in Ruto’s Office

Renowned Kenyan comedian Vincent Mwasya, popularly known as Chipukeezy, has been appointed as an assistant director at the Executive of the Office of the President.

In a recent statement, Dennis Itumbi announced that the comedian was taking up the role of Assistant Director of protocol and Events.

According to Itumbi, the appointment was deserved owing to his work in the creative economy.

“Congratulations Chipukeezy, on your appointment as Assistant Director, Protocol and Events in the Executive Office of the President,” Itumbi wrote.

Chipukeezy has been a close associate of the Kenya Kwanza administration and has been an MC at some of the Ruto events.

He has also come under some backlash on social media over his affiliations with Ruto’s administration, prompting his response.

“To those who keep attacking us for what we are doing, let me tell you, it will be very hard to quit a paying job. Do you mean I would simply walk away from a job so that you celebrate me online? How stupid would I be?” he posed.

This will not be the first time the comedian will be working within the government.

Previously, he was appointed by the Uhuru Kenyatta administration to the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol Drug Abuse (NACADA) board.
