Lawyer Chacha Mwita was apprehended over alleged terror facilitation.
The Kahawa Law Court is set pto rule on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 on an application by the Anti-Terror Police Unit seeking to detain prominent lawyer Chacha Mwita for 20 days pending investigations.
M was arrested in Mombasa over the weekend, is accused transported to Nairobi, where he spent the weekend in police custody.
According to the prosecution, the investigations have linked Mwita to a recruitment network in the coastal region, purportedly assisting youths to join terrorist groups.
According to the detectives,k he used multiple mobile phone numbers to receive funds from Binance accounts allegedly connected to the financing of terrorist activities both locally and internationally.
Reports indicates that if the courts allows Mwita to be detained, he will be taken to Industrial Police Station pending investigations.
