CAF changes the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup Regulations and extends the Player Registration deadline to 28 February 2025.
CAF has finally decided to revise two regulations in the player registration Regulations of the Champions League and Confederation Cup.
The amendments will now be similar to the UEFA Champions League and the UEFA Europa League Player Registration Regulations.
The First Amendment will allow football clubs to register a player for the Champions League or the Confederation Cup, even if the player had participated in either of these CAF Competitions for another football club within the same football season.

This is a significant change from the previous rule, which prohibited a player from competing for two different teams in the same CAF competition
This new rule will enable more player transfers between clubs, as players can now move freely between CAF teams without the restriction of representing multiple clubs in the same CAF season.
The decision further opens up new opportunities for African clubs to strengthen their squads mid-season and gives players more transfer options.
The second amendment is the extension of the player registration deadline for CAF competitions. The deadline has been extended to February 28, 2025, instead of the original deadline at the end of January.
This will give more time to finalize deals for players who have already participated in CAF competitions this season.
