Embakasi East MP Babu Owino has announced the resolution of a copyright dispute between musicians Kapitani and Master VK over their hit song Kitemeo, popularly known on social media as “Bag Ni Ya Nini.”
The two artists approached Babu Owino to help mediate their differences, leading to an agreement to resolve the dispute and restore the song on YouTube.
Master VK agreed to have the song reinstated on the platform as the two musicians explore opportunities to work together on other projects.

Babu said the agreement would allow the artists to move past their differences and focus on their music careers while continuing to collaborate on future projects.
The Embakasi East MP also revealed that he is already working with Kapitani and Master VK on a major project, which will see him feature in the accompanying music video.
The development comes amid growing attention around Kitemeo, which gained popularity on social media under the “Bag Ni Ya Nini” tag, making the dispute between the artists a subject of public interest.
Babu said the resolution demonstrated the importance of creating an environment where Kenyan artists can settle disputes amicably, collaborate and grow together.
