Kenyan archbishop Anthony Muheria of the Archdiocese of Nyeri has joined the global mourning of Pope Francis at the Vatican.
While sharing his tribute, he stated that his planned trip to Rome coincided with the passing of the Pope.
Hopefully, he will be among the clergy who will concelebrate in the Pope’s funeral mass on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
“Today, I had the honour and privilege to pray next to his body on behalf of many. I tried my best to represent all of us in Kenya and express the desire of many hearts to pray next to his body for him. I hope to concelebrate in the Funeral Mass on Saturday”, Archbishop Muheria stated.
Among other Kenyans who will be attending the Pope’s funeral service is Moses Wetangula to represent President Ruto who is currently in China engaging in bilateral talks with the president of China Xi Jinping.
Among other leaders are President Donald Trump, Prince William and French President Emmanuel Macron.
The first Latin Pope died on Monday, April 21, 2025, at his residence in the Vatican’s Casa Santa Marta.
He will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 26, 2025.
