Officers from the Anti-Counterfeit Authority (ACA) have raided an electronics shop in Nairobi Central Business District (CBD) and seized fake scientific calculators.
According to the officers, the calculators had been intended to be sold to unsuspecting students ahead of the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams, which will begin later next month.
The authority noted that such counterfeit calculators risked misleading and inconveniencing learners during the national examinations.
“Counterfeit calculators can disadvantage students in timed subjects like mathematics and physics where accuracy and speed are essential”, the authority said.
