Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has been sentenced to either 12 years in prison or pay a fine of Ksh. 52.5 million for corruption charges.
The ex-County boss was found guilty of fraudulent tender worth Ksh.588 million.
The fraudulent tender involved the upgrading of several roads in Kiambu, Thika, Limuru, Gatundu road, Thika and Ruiru which was awarded by the County Government in February in February 2018 to Testimony Enterprises Limited.
Waititu was found guilty of four accounts for irregularly awarding the tender.

The court found out that he had received 25. million from Testimony Enterprises channeled through various Companys linked to him which included Saika Two Estate Developers, Beinvenue Delta Hotel Ltd and Lake Naivasha Resort Ltd.
The former governor was sentenced alongside his wife Wangari who faces a one-year imprisonment if she fails to pay a fine of Ksh.500,000.
She was convicted for a role in facilitating the illegal transactions.
Their co-accused, Testimony Enterprises Limited Director Charles Chege was also sentenced to 9 years in prison or Ksh.295 million.
Beth Wangeci, the second director at Testimony Enterprises Limited was fined Ksh.1 million or one year in prison.
Chege and his wife were convicted for their involvement in the corruption practices related to the tender.
